New-Gen Language Teachers is an Erasmus+ KA220-HED project responding to the need to prepare language teachers for the use of artificial intelligence in education. It supports both pre-service and in-service educators in developing the skills and ethical awareness needed to use AI responsibly in language teaching.

Led by the University of Latvia and implemented with partners from Türkiye, Spain, and Austria, the project combines expertise from higher education, digital learning, and applied linguistics. Together, the partners develop a 20-hour curriculum module, a gamified AI toolkit, and an open-access MOOC for language educators.

Running from 2025 to 2027, the project engages educators, researchers, and policymakers through workshops, webinars, and dissemination activities. It is aligned with the EU Digital Education Action Plan and the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, promoting transparent, fair, and human-centered use of AI in education.
